Skalloween was once again very awesome. Thanks to the two bands who came out and played with us, especially Cake Eater, who has to drive really far to come and rock out. There are pictures over on Facebook, if you want to take a look.
And I just want to say that despite all of the potential for stuff to go totally wrong, very little actually did. The worst thing that happened was when some guy got too excited and pushed a girl into my dad's speaker. It fell and bounced off of our sound table. It was fine, but if your that kid, don't do it again... I'll break you.
Thanks to everyone that was there and no thanks to the person who stole all of my our Reeces.

Click Here to see "The Pool Has AIDS" music video on Facebook. The quality of the video isn't so hot, but I'm working on it. It should show up on Youtube sometime soon.
Like I said last time I wrote, we won third place in the JCTV-Chanel 3 Amateur Video Contest. We were interviewed about the video.

attractive people.

That video about our video will be on Channel 3 tonight at 6pm! Tape it if you can and then send it to us. I don't get channel 3. Sad stuff.

More importantly, SKALLOWEEN!!! (the third) is this Thursday. THIS Thursday. We want people to go. We need you to go. Please...
Cake Eater is coming back to say hello again. That's good, we like those dudes. Also, we are proud to introduce a new band called Sequence of Strangers. I haven't heard them yet, but I can only imagine...

P.S. - Dress up for Skalloween! It's cool. And liberating.

Vote

Well, we lost our first battle of the bands on Saturday. Yes, it is a sad time in the lives The Dead Pirates Society. Not really, because that was actually one the best shows we've played in a while. Thanks to the Lion's Club (Kristy especially), everybody who showed up, and all the bands (Adrina, Ricky and the Ricksters, Farewell To A Legend, Through The Desert, A Tragic Farewell, Celebrity She Was, and The Anatomy of).
Also, if you have photos or videos of us from the battle, we would love to take those from you... (thedeadpiratessociety@gmail.com).

Also, that morning, we played at Harvest Festival which was downtown. There was this one lady who came up to the stage while we were playing and started dancing, and it was probably the coolest thing I've ever seen. After the song was over Ross shook her hand.
After the show we were interviewed by KBIA, Your NPR Station (I've memorized it from years of my parents' listening). I don't know what happened to that interview, but if you heard it, let us know.

One last name to drop. Thanks to Megan Brown for putting together a concert earlier this month and thanks to the people who showed up there instead of the JCHS homecoming football game. I'm sorry you had to wait for me (Wes) to drive home to get Ross' bass guitar, which I left sitting by my basement door.

One last thing. The video to "The Pool Has AIDS" is finished. Totally finished. (Oh, here are some more names) Thanks to Markus, Jesska, Keenan, Sam, Landon's dad, and Korea's landlord for helping us out. Now all I have to do is put it on YouTube... but I'm so lazy...
We entered it into a contest and won 3rd place! And its going to be shown on TV (Channel 3, Public Access, WOO!).

Big news in the world of TDPS... We made T-shirts! Check them out in this fancy and thoughtful ad....

BUY! SPEND! We love you for your money!

Also, we have been recording and the demo/rough mix type things can be heard over at the MySpace or the Facebook (ooooh! so many options!) Check them out! Or else I'll check them out for you, jerk!

Lastly, we are busy editing our very first music video. It's for "The Pool Has AIDS" and if I ever get time to work on it again, it should be finished soon.
Good day!

The Pool Has AIDS
Our show at McClung Park was way rad! Thanks to The Stereotypewriter and A War In May for playing. And major thanks to Cake Eater for coming all the way from St. Peters, MO, playing an awesome show, and then being the absolute best audience we've ever had. The crowd may have been small overall, but we've never had so much energy. (There was a circle pit! A CIRCLE PIT!!! It was AMAZING!) The whole pool thing (look up) was way better than we imagined. At one point, our sound guy hopped in the pool and was dragged around the room!
Really good show. Thanks to the bands and to everybody who showed up.

(There's some new photos over here.)

This site is about as done as I can make it. Welcome to the Official Dead Pirates Society Website. Woo!

As far as real news goes, we actually have some! We are playing at Mojo's in Columbia, MO next week for the very first time. We're happy about it. But we need you, the loyal fans, to head up to Mojo's with us. The more people we get in there, the more likely we are to be asked back. We want to go back.
So, the doors open at 8:30pm and we start at 9. We hope to see you there. Check out the shows page for more info on that.
In other news, two days after our vacation to Mojo's, we are playing at McClung Park with The Stereotypewriter, A War In May, and Cake Eater. At this show, we want are encouraging people (you) to take pictures and to film stuff. Do it at any or all of our shows. The main reason I want you to is to make sure I looked good. But the band wants it all just for fun. Obviously, we can't take photos of ourselves. So if you go for it, thanks, and please send everything you got to us!
